PTC News Desk: A massive landslide on early Saturday halted vehicular movement on the Chandigarh-Manali Highway, leaving many tourists stranded.

The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway is closed since 1 a.m. Massive debris has blocked the road near 9 Mile, and commuters are now stranded in long lines on both sides of the highway.

Adding to the challenge, the debris has created a swamp-like situation at the location. A Thar has been stuck in the debris however no one got hurt. The continuous rain is making it difficult to clear the debris, and it may take some time to reopen the highway.

According to officials, 31 roads in Himachal Pradesh were halted for vehicular movement on Friday evening as rain continued to fall in parts of the state.

The meteorological office in Shimla has issued a moderate flash flood warning for sections of Shimla and Sirmaur districts until Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest spot in the state, with a low of 8.1 degrees Celsius, and Una was the warmest, with a maximum of 33.2 degrees Celsius.

Around 10 roads are closed in Kangra, 7 in Mandi, 5 in Sirmaur district, 4 in Shimla, 3 in Kullu and one each in Kinnaur and Bilaspur districts as per the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
