Kolkata murder suspect Sanjay Roy's psychoanalytic profile reveals 'animalistic instincts, lack of remorse, and perverse behaviour

PTC News Desk: The psychoanalytic profile of Sanjay Roy, the accused in the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case, has painted a disturbing picture of the suspect. According to a CBI officer, Roy has been identified as a “pervert severely addicted to pornography” and exhibits "animal-like instincts" with a complete lack of remorse for the heinous crime. The officer further stated that Roy displayed no repentance during interrogation and recounted the crime with disturbing detail and without any sign of remorse.

The victim, a young doctor who had been on a 36-hour shift at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was attacked while resting in the hospital’s seminar hall. The post-mortem report revealed that she had been raped and brutally beaten, sustaining 16 external and nine internal injuries, and ultimately died from strangulation.

Sanjay Roy was apprehended a day after the crime. His presence at the crime scene was corroborated by several pieces of evidence, including CCTV footage showing him around the hospital’s chest department at 11 a.m. on August 8 and later entering the same building at 4 a.m. on August 9. His Bluetooth headphones were also found near the crime scene.

Technical and scientific evidence supports Roy's presence at the crime scene. Additionally, numerous pornographic clips were discovered on his mobile phone.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also exploring whether a broader conspiracy might have contributed to the crime. As part of their investigation, they have questioned former RG Kar Medical College principal Dr. Sandip Ghosh and are considering polygraph tests for Roy, Dr. Ghosh, and others involved.

The Kolkata Police are concurrently investigating allegations of financial irregularities involving Dr. Ghosh. On Wednesday, Dr. Ghosh’s former colleague, Akhtar Ali, alleged that Ghosh was involved in the “business of dead bodies,” further complicating the case.
