Kolkata court frames charges against RG Kar prime accused Sanjay Roy
PTC News Desk: A Kolkata court has framed charges against Sanjay Roy who is a prime accused in the rape and murder RG Kar Medical and Hospital trainee doctor. The charges have been framed eighty seven days after the heinous crime took place. Roy however has claimed that he is being thrown under the bus in order to shield the real culprits.

The court announced that day-to-day trial would commence from November 11. The brutal rape and murder of woman medic prompted a nationwide outrage demanding justice for the victim while hampering the medical services for several days.
Roy has been booked under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) Section 66 (which pertains to punishment for causing death or resulting in a persistent vegetative state) and 103 (punishment for murder).

The case was handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) subsequently, the federal agency submitted its first charge sheet in the case on October 7. Approximately 11 pieces of evidence including DNA sample, CCTV footage, blood stains and hair are linked with Roy. The chargesheet also hinted at the possibility of a bigger conspiracy behind the murder.
