Kochi-bound SpiceJet flight with 117 on board faces technical snag mid-air, returns to airport
PTC Web Desk: Two SpiceJet flights faced technical issues on Monday, leading to one emergency landing and another diversion. The first incident involved a Kochi-bound SpiceJet Q400 aircraft from Chennai, which returned to the airport due to a technical glitch. The flight, carrying 117 passengers, was mid-air when the pilots detected the problem and made the decision to return to Chennai.
The aircraft landed safely at 7.15 am, and passengers were deplaned safely.
In a separate incident, a SpiceJet flight operating from Delhi to Shillong was diverted to Patna after a crack was detected in the cockpit's windshield. The carrier clarified that the crack was limited to just one of the three layers of the windshield and assured that the diversion was a precautionary measure. The aircraft landed normally in Patna, and passengers were deplaned safely. Throughout the flight, pressurisation remained normal.
