Kejriwal to get home-cooked meals, bottled drinking water in Tihar
PTC News Desk: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will have home-cooked meals and bottled drinking water in Tihar jail, a Delhi court said on Monday while extending his custody. The AAP leader will also get a supply of toffees in case of a sudden drop in blood sugar levels.
He will also be able to meet his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, while in jail, and he will have access to bed linen from home, such as pillows and a quilt. He will also be provided with medical equipment to monitor his health. Notably, Kejriwal is diabetic and has an immune system that is weak.
Arvind Kejriwal's custody has been extended until April 15, with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) still probing his alleged involvement in the high-profile Dekhi excise policy scam.
Joining a cohort of AAP leaders within Tihar Jail's confines, Arvind Kejriwal will be kept in Jail No. 2, accompanied by former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Jail No. 1, former Health Minister Satyendar Jain in Jail No. 7, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in Jail No. 5.
Notably, K Kavitha, a prominent leader from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, resides in Jail No. 6 within the women's section, facing accusations related to a bribery scandal involving the AAP.
