PTC Web Desk:  United States Vice President JD Vance touched down in New Delhi on Monday, accompanied by his wife Usha Vance and their three children, marking the beginning of his first official visit to India. The family received a warm welcome at Delhi’s Palam Technical Airport, where Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw greeted them with traditional hospitality, and JD Vance was presented with a tri-services ceremonial guard of honour.

What instantly drew attention, however, was the Vance children's attire — a delightful nod to Indian culture. Ewan, Blake (also referred to as Vivek), and Mirabel Vance arrived in ethnic Indian clothing, charming everyone present.

Ewan, the eldest, wore a striking blue kurta, and was the first to disembark from the aircraft, embracing his father on the tarmac. Vivek, dressed in a yellow kurta, followed his brother down the stairs, capturing a sweet sibling moment.

The youngest, three-year-old Mirabel, stole the show in a mini Anarkali suit, complete with an embroidered jacket. She was gently guided down the aircraft steps by a staff member before being lifted by her father.

The family exchanged greetings with Minister Vaishnaw on the tarmac in a touching cultural moment that symbolised the warmth of US-India ties.

Later in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to host a formal dinner in honour of the visiting Vice President and his family, following a round of high-level bilateral discussions. The Indian delegation at the talks will include External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

JD Vance is accompanied on this diplomatic visit by a five-member delegation, including senior representatives from both the Pentagon and the US State Department.

The Vance family is scheduled to fly back to Washington on Thursday.
