Jammu and Kashmir: BSF thwarts narcotic smuggling, shot fatally Pakistani intruder in Samba
Samba/Jammu, July 25: On Tuesday the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully foiled a major narcotic smuggling bid along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district. According to a BSF spokesperson, the vigilant troops neutralized a Pakistani smuggler in the Ramgarh border area during the intervening night of July 24 and 25.
Upon conducting an initial search of the area, four packets of suspected narcotics, each weighing one kilogram, were discovered near the body of the deceased intruder.
The incident unfolded when alert border guards detected suspicious movement near the S M Pura post in the Ramgarh sector late Monday night. Despite repeated warnings, the suspected intruder ignored the alerts, prompting the border guards to open fire.
As the search operation in the region continues, the identity of the deceased smuggler is yet to be confirmed. The recovered four kilograms of narcotic substance are critical evidence in the thwarted smuggling attempt.
