Jharkhand election results : Ruling JMM-Congress alliance defies exit polls, crosses halfway mark
PTC News Desk: While BJP-led alliance has breached the 200 mark, JMM-Congress alliance in Jharkhand defied exit poll projections and crossed the halfway mark.
As per the trends in 73 of the 81 seats, the INDIA bloc was leading in 46, the NDA in 29 and an independent and JKLM. Chief Minister Hemant Soren who contested from Barhait, his wife Kalpana from Gandey, former CM and BJP state president Babulal Marandi from Dhanwar and ex-CM Champai Soren from Seraikela.
In Seraikela, former CM and BJP nominee Champai Soren trailing against the JMM's Ganesh Mahli. Kumar Jaimangal Singh of Congress in Bermo leading over his nearest rival Ravindra Pandey of BJP.
The exit polls projections showed BJP's power in the state however the early trends in Jharkhand while defying exit polls projected Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to retain power with the ruling coalition crossing majority mark in the 81-member assembly, with leads in 50 seats.
