J-K security situation: Amit Shah chairs high-level meeting in Delhi
New Delhi, April 13: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a high-level meeting on Thursday in the national capital.
The meeting began at 3 p.m. at the Ministry of Home Affairs' North Block office. The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Dilbagh Singh, and other top authorities from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Central Armed Police Forces.
The meeting was also attended by Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, R&AW chief Samant Kumar Goel, National Investigation Agency DG Dinkar Gupta, and Central Reserve Police Force Director General SL Thaosen.
Similar meetings have been conducted by the Home Minister from time to time to review the situation in J-K, where militants have targeted civilians and security forces personnel across the years, and some personnel have died in such attacks.
Senior government officials, including officers from Jammu and Kashmir, attend the meetings.
During his three-day visit to J&K in October, the Home Minister also reviewed the security situation in the Union Territory.
On December 28, 2022, Shah conducted a review meeting in New Delhi to discuss the security condition and development aspects of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
