Indian Army kills 2 terrorists in Baramullah, thwarts infiltration bid following Pahalgam massacre
PTC News Desk: The Indian Army on Wednesday neautralised two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam after a heavy exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists.
The Chinar Cops-Indian Army X handle in a post confirmed the operation. The post stated, "Heavy exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists, two terrorists have been eliminated, infiltration bid foiled by the security forces in the ongoing Operation. Large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores have been recovered from the terrorists. Operation is in progress."
The development comes a day after horrific terror attack that struck Pahalgam leaving 26 people dead. The Resistance Front, a local offshoot of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has taken responsibility for the carnage.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a search operation in the general area of Baisran, Pahalgam, Anantnag, to nab the perpetrators of the attack.
In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack and cut short his Saudi Arabia trip. Home Minister Amit Shah, after the attack, called a high-level security meeting and will travel to Pahalgam for an urgent security review.
