Indian Army foils infiltration attempt as Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC

PTC News Desk: In an attempt of violation along the Line of Control, Pakistan Army intruded into Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Tuesday and opened fire. The Indian Army also retaliated in controlled and caliberated manner.

The Indian Army stated that there were no casualties reported on its side and the firing continued intermittently throughout the day.

"On 1st April, a mine blast occurred in Krishna Ghati Sector due to Pakistan Army intrusion across LC. This was followed by unprovoked firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army. Own troops responded effectively in a controlled and calibrated manner. Situation is under control and being closely monitored. Indian Army reiterates the importance of upholding the tenets of DGsMO understanding of 2021 to maintain peace along the Line of Control," PRO Defence Jammu said.

Earlier in a meeting in 2021, both the sides agreed to address the concerns that are likely to trigger violence. Both sides had agreed to all agreements, understandings and ceasefire along the Line of Control.
