'Pakistan mein ghus kar marenge': Rajnath to terrorists
PTC News Desk: In a resolute statement, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that India would not hesitate to cross into Pakistan to neutralise any individuals attempting to escape after perpetrating terrorist activities within India. Singh's remarks follow closely on the heels of a report by Britain's Guardian newspaper, alleging that the Indian government has eliminated 20 individuals in Pakistan since 2020 as part of a broader strategy to eradicate terrorists operating from foreign territory.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs refrained from providing commentary on the report when approached by Reuters, while Pakistan's foreign ministry declined to issue a response.
Singh, speaking to CNN News18, emphasised India's commitment to fostering amicable relations with neighbouring nations but underscored the nation's unwavering resolve in confronting terrorism. "India always wants to maintain good relations with its neighbouring countries... But if anyone shows India the angry eyes again and again, comes to India and tries to promote terrorist activities, we will not spare them," asserted Singh.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated notably following the 2019 suicide bombing of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, which was attributed to Pakistan-based terrorists. In response, India conducted an airstrike on a terrorist base within Pakistan.

Earlier this year, Pakistan claimed to possess credible evidence linking Indian operatives to the killings of two Pakistani citizens on its soil, an accusation vehemently denied by India as "false and malicious" propaganda.
The Guardian's report surfaces amidst accusations from Canada and the United States regarding India's involvement in targeting terrorists abroad. Canada announced in September that it was investigating "credible allegations" linking India to the death of a Sikh leader, a claim dismissed by India as baseless. Additionally, the US revealed in November its interception of an Indian plot to assassinate a Sikh leader, leading to charges against an individual purportedly collaborating with India on the attempted murder.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has affirmed India's commitment to investigating any information pertaining to these allegations, as diplomatic exchanges between the nations continue to evolve.
