India presses Canada for proof in Nijjar murder, demands strong action against anti-India elements
PTC News Desk: India has rendered it clear to Canada that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cannot level unsubstantiated charges against the Modi government for the killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar without giving evidence.
The Indian position was communicated to top security officials and diplomats of the Justin Trudeau government in a third country on Saturday, as there are discrepancies between the Canadian Prime Minister's allegations and the investigating agency, RCMP, which is still investigating the Nijjar murder. It has made it clear to the Trudeau regime that giving political orders to investigating agencies is a crime under the law.
The meeting of interlocutors took place after Prime Minister Trudeau nearly ambushed Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he was walking from the lounge to the dining venue at the ASEAN summit on October 11.
While Trudeau said in state media that he and PM Modi had a brief conversation, it is understood that the Indian leader virtually told him that it was "not the time and place" for discussion. It is clear that there was no handshake between PM Modi and Trudeau.
India later released a lengthy statement on the so-called brief exchange, claiming that no serious discussion had occurred.
The truth is that Trudeau deliberately approached PM Modi in preparation for his appearance before the public inquiry into foreign interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions on October 16.
Melanie Joly, the Canadian Foreign Minister, has already testified before the so-called Commission and stated publicly that she intends to bring down the Modi government by all means. The Canadian Public Safety Minister is also scheduled to testify before the Commission on October 15.
Although Trudeau criticised the Modi government in Parliament for the murder of Nijjar on September 18, 2023, his government has not produced any evidence or a legal indictment to support its allegations. The RCMP, which is under pressure from Trudeau's government to nail India, has stated that it is still investigating the crime, but has detained four Sikh youths for the terrorist's murder in what appears to be gang warfare.
