Coronavirus uptick: India logs 5,357 fresh coronavirus cases in 24 hours
New Delhi, Apr 9: On Sunday, India reported 5,357 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 4,47,56,616. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday, active cases rose to 32,814, comprising 0.07 per cent of the total cases. The death toll increased to 5,30,965 with 11 deaths reported from eight states.
Meanwhile, the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74 per cent. The number of people who have recovered from the virus surged to 4,41,92,837, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.19 per cent. 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
