'IKillU': Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir receives death threat; approaches Delhi police for action

PTC News Desk: In a surprising development, Gautam Gambhir, head coach of the ICT team, has reportedly received a death threat from a group identifying itself as ‘ISIS Kashmir’. The threat led the former World Cup champion to immediately notify the Delhi Police.

According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Rajinder Nagar Police Station, Gambhir has officially filed a request for an FIR.

He allegedly received two threatening emails on April 22, both carrying the ominous message "IKillU." The Delhi Police are expected to launch a thorough investigation to ensure the safety of Gambhir and his family.

The threat was delivered through two separate emails on April 22—one in the afternoon and another later in the evening—both bearing the alarming message, "IKillU."

This isn’t the first time Gautam Gambhir has been targeted; a similar threat was sent to him in November 2021 while he was serving as a Member of Parliament.

Meanwhile, Gambhir has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
