Holiday in Chandigarh on June 10 to mark martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji
PTC Web Desk: The Chandigarh Administration has declared June 10 a public holiday in observance of the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. All government offices, boards, corporations, institutions, and industrial establishments under the jurisdiction of the Chandigarh Administration shall remain closed. The holiday will also be recognised within the scope of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Guru of Sikhism, is revered for his spiritual teachings and his ultimate sacrifice for his faith. The Martyrdom Day commemorates his profound contributions and enduring legacy. This observance provides an opportunity for people to honour his memory and reflect on his teachings of compassion, humility, and service to humanity.
In light of this announcement, all relevant entities in Chandigarh will remain closed on June 10 to allow people to participate in the commemorative events and pay their respects.
