Himachal Pradesh: Flash flood strikes Tosh Nullah in Manikaran valley; quick response averts major disaster in Kasol
PTC News Desk: A flash flood that raced through Tosh Nullah in the Kullu district's Manikaran Valley early on Tuesday caused serious damage to infrastructure.
The floodwaters flooded a nearby café and damaged two stores, one of which was a wine shop. A road bridge in the area also suffered significant damage. No fatalities were reported.
SDM Kullu Vikas Shukla stated that the area's dredging activities were essential in averting a big catastrophe. Without these precautions, the flash flood might have reached the Kasol market and might have had dire repercussions.
This monsoon season, the tragedy is the second of its kind to occur in the Kullu district. Three buildings had previously been washed away by a comparable flash flood in the Anjani Mahadev area near Manali, which also temporarily shut the Manali-Leh route.
SDM Shukla said that things are under control and that things will return to normalcy.
