Himachal LoP Jairam Thakur hosts 'samosa' party for BJP workers amid CID probe row
Amid samosa controversy erupted in Himachal Pradesh, in a move to mock CM Sukhu, former chief minister Jairam Thakur hosted a samosa party for BJP worker.
The development comes after a row over CID probe in samosa incident where snacks ordered for chief minister Sukhu were served to security staff at CID headquarters.
Soon after the incident, a video has gone viral where leader of opposition Jairam Thakur along with other BJP workers were seen enjoying the deep fried snacks.
The row snowballed over allegations that the CID had launched a probe to investigate the case of the missing samosas. However Congress has rejected the allegation of CID probe into the matter and said that CID is investigating on their own accord.
Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha, the director general of Himachal Pradesh CID, said it was a simple matter of a bunch of officers gathering for tea and wondering where boxes of snacks ordered for the event were.
Ojha said that no "probe" had been launched and all that happened was an appeal being made to find out what had happened to the boxes.
