Haryana: Man strangles 8-year-old niece to death, buries her 3 km away from home
PTC News Desk: A 27-year-old man allegedly strangled his eight-year-old niece and buried her body in a field three kilometres from his village. The body was recovered Friday evening and taken to the mortuary, according to police.
The girl went missing on Wednesday in suspicious circumstances.
Her father approached the police, stating that his daughter was playing with other children at home and went missing around 12 p.m. while he and his wife were out in the fields.
According to police, he filed a complaint, which led to the registration of a missing person FIR at Ferozepur Jhirka Police Station on Thursday.
The investigation led police to Abbas, a truck driver, who was arrested. During questioning, Abbas admitted to killing the girl and burying her body in Doha Village. According to police, he has yet to reveal the motive for the killing.
According to police, the girl's body was exhumed and sent to the Mandikheda district hospital for a postmortem.
"The accused worked as a truck driver. Inspector Aman Kumar, SHO of Ferozepur Jhirka Police Station, stated, "We are questioning him, and the board of doctors will conduct a post-mortem tomorrow."
