Gujarat floods update: Gujarat continues to struggle with a massive flood situation. Amid continuous heavy rainfall, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a ‘red’ alert for several parts of the state on Thursday. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rains are expected till August 30.

According to the weather service, the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kachchh will likely get worse as it advances towards the northeast Arabian Sea, bringing further heavy rain to the region. While rescue operations and evacuations continue, the death toll from rain-related incidents has risen to 28 in the last three days.
