Go First fined Rs 10 lakh for leaving behind 55 passengers of Bengaluru-Delhi flight

New Delhi, January 27: Civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA ) on Friday Go First Rs 10 lakh for leaving behind 55 passengers of Bengaluru-Delhi flight.

Earlier, the regulator had sent a show-cause notice to the airlines after its Bengaluru-Delhi flight took off without 55 passengers on January 9. The airlines then issued an apology and also offered free tickets to the passengers.  The flight took off at 6.30 am on January 9. The stranded passengers were then later accommodated in another flight a few hours later.

"We sincerely apologise for inconvenience caused to the passengers due to an inadvertent oversight in the reconciliation of flight G8 116, from Bengaluru to Delhi. Passengers were accommodated on alternate airlines to Delhi and onward to other destinations,” a Go First spokesperson had said in a statement.
