Go First crisis: Airline extends flight cancellations till June 22
New Delhi, June 19: Crisis-hit airline Go First has announced that its scheduled flight operations will remain cancelled till June 22 owing to operational reasons. It was earlier supposed to end on June 19.
"Due to operational reasons, Go First flights until 22nd June 2023 are cancelled," the airline said in a tweet, apologising for the inconvenience caused to the flyers.
According to reports, the grounding of the Go First flights had put pressure on airfares, particularly on select routes where the airline had its footprint.
Go First, India's third-largest airline, announced in May that it was facing a severe cash crunch, forcing it to halt flights for two days and apply for insolvency with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Several passengers who had booked flights with the low-cost carrier were left stranded after the company stated that all flights on May 3 and 4 had been cancelled.
The cancellation of flights, however, was extended from time to time. Now the flights will remain cancelled till June 22.
The company previously stated that it has filed an application for immediate resolution and revival of operations.
