Delhi records 105 dengue cases in one week

Delhi has recorded a total of 348 cases of dengue since the start of the year with as many as 105 cases reported over the last week alone, according to data released by Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Fully prepared for healthy discussion, will answer every question in Assembly: UP CM

Lucknow, August 7: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that his government is fully prepared for a healthy discussion in the Monsoon session of the state's Assembly, which commenced on Monday.

CM Yogi said that presently, Uttar Pradesh is facing floods in western part while there are 40 districts where the problem of drought is a big challenge. "We are ready to discuss this important issue in the House with the permission of the Speaker and the consent of the members of the opposition", he remarked.

Manipur Violence: SC sets up 42 SITs to probe cases not transferred to CBI

Supreme Court announced on Monday that it intends to issue an order constituting 42 Special Investigation Teams (SIT) to investigate cases related to the Manipur violence that have not yet been transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

A Bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud stated that while cases have been handed to the CBI, it is seeking to direct that five officers of at least Deputy SP rank be brought into the CBI from various states.

870 Air Traffic Controllers posts are vacant: MoS VK Singh in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi, August 7: As many as 870 posts of Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) are vacant, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation General V K Singh (Retd) told the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

“There is no backlog in filling vacancies of ATCOs. To meet the manpower requirements of ATCOs, an additional 796 ATCO positions have been created since 2022. Vacant posts of ATCOs are filled through direct recruitment examination as well as internally through departmental examination,” said the minister in a written reply.

Chandrayaan-3 now closer to moon

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday said the GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle, which lifted off successfully with the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, underwent a planned orbit reduction manoeuvre, bringing it closer to the moon.

The space agency said it will carry out the next such operation on August 9.
