Gangster Aman Sahu: Chhattisgarh police bring gangster with 90 cases from Jharkhand jail under cover of night
Gangster Aman Sahu: Notorious gangster Aman Sahu, who has been incarcerated in Saraikela Jail, Jharkhand, has been transferred to Raipur, Chhattisgarh, under tight security. A contingent of 30 armed personnel from both Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh police escorted him into the capital, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. Sahu faces two cases in Chhattisgarh and an astounding 88 in Jharkhand, including charges of extortion and intimidation.
The transfer was executed under a production warrant issued by the Chhattisgarh court. Authorities have made extensive security arrangements at the Raipur Crime Branch Office, where Sahu is currently being held. Among the serious allegations against him is a shooting incident that occurred outside a businessman’s office in the Telibandha area of Raipur, which has raised concerns over public safety.
A 10-member team from the Raipur Crime Branch traveled to Jharkhand, fully armed, to facilitate the transfer. This operation was conducted with the assistance of the Jharkhand Police, ensuring Sahu’s safe arrival in Raipur amid heightened security protocols.
According to reports, the Raipur Crime Branch team returned from Jharkhand with additional security forces, including officers equipped with AK-47 rifles, to ensure the operation was executed smoothly. This transfer marks a significant event, being the first instance where a criminal has been brought to Raipur from another state with such stringent security measures.
This transfer was not without its challenges. Local police had sought protection from the court multiple times—five to six requests—previously failing to secure Sahu’s transfer under a protection warrant. Ultimately, the court issued a protection warrant for Sahu and two of his associates, Vikram Singh and Akash Rai, also known as Monu. All three remain incarcerated in Giridih Jail.

Aman Sahu is implicated in numerous criminal activities, primarily in Jharkhand, where he faces multiple charges. He is regarded as a hardcore criminal, which has led the Giridih Jail administration to hesitate in transferring him due to concerns for his safety and the potential risks associated with such a move. Reports indicate that he participates in virtual court hearings every few days as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
Additionally, there are claims of a connection between Sahu and the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This association raises alarms regarding possible links to recent robberies and shootings targeting businesses in Chhattisgarh, although the police have not yet confirmed these connections officially.
Currently, Aman Sahu is being held at the Raipur Crime Branch office. Authorities plan to present him in court today to seek further remand. Following this, police will interrogate him regarding the shooting incident that took place in Raipur on July 13, which has already led to the arrest of 12 individuals, including a female member of his gang.
The situation remains tense as law enforcement agencies continue their efforts to dismantle Sahu's criminal network and ensure the safety of the public in Chhattisgarh.
