'Full support for any action': Opposition backs government on Pahalgam attack
PTC News Desk: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has expressed unwavering support for the government's response to the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 civilian lives and left many injured.
A high-level meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was held in New Delhi, lasting two hours and involving 13 leaders from various political parties. Following the meeting, Gandhi told the media that there was unanimous condemnation of the attack and that the opposition fully backed the government in any action it chooses to take.
Rajnath Singh briefed the leaders on the incident and outlined the government’s response. Key Union Ministers, including Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Kiren Rijiju, were also present at the meeting.
According to Akashvani, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed the collective condemnation and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay mentioned that security shortcomings were discussed and confirmed that all parties assured their support for any measures the government deems necessary for national interest.
