Fresh snowfall in Himachal's Kullu and Shimla
Kullu, January 13: Himachal Pradesh on Friday received around 1.2 inches of fresh snowfall.
"Snowfall is going on Malana village in Kullu district received fresh snowfall. As a result, people found themselves in "knee-deep snow", said India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials.

The sky in the region will be partly cloudy with humid weather to 90 per cent for the next two day, confirmed in the IMD forecast. The temperature will come down minimum to 4 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures would oscillate to 9 degrees Celsius, IMD further added.
Similarly, the in the higher reaches of Narkanda and the Mandhol village of Shimla district also received snowfall on Friday.
A per the reports, due to 2 feet of fresh snowfall at Mandhol village, the entire area is wrapped in knee-deep snow, while the Narkanda area has received half a foot of fresh snowfall. Due to heavy snowfall the traffic movement around the area has been affected and causig problem for commuting. The city administration has suspended the movement for tourist vehicles beyond Solanganala.
In the coming two days India Meteorological Department has forecasted snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh. There will be moderate snowfall in the next two days in the Kinnaur, Chamba, Lahaul -Spiti, Shimla and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh.
A cold wave alert has been declared by IMD in the lower districts of Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Una and Mandi, they further said that after January 14, the weather is expected to remain dry.
"The higher reaches in Himachal Pradesh during the past 24 hours received fresh snowfall. Kothi in Kullu district received 15CM snowfall, Hansa in Lahaul-Spiti recorded 9 cm fresh snowfall and higher reaches of Shimla district recorded 5 of a fresh snowfall," said IMD Senior Scientist HP Sandeep Kumar Sharma.
