Fog fallout : Delhi cops killed in horrific road accident in Sonipat

Fog fallout: Biting cold gripped several places of Northern and North-eastern parts of the country especially in Delhi, NCR and nearby areas as temperature dropped to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius today. 

Dense fog, low clouds and low visibility persists across Nation has become a problem for commuters, thus increasing the chances of accidents in the city due to thick fog. 

In a horrific, dreadful and horrible mishap, two Delhi cops killed after their car collided with truck. The shocking incident unfolded near the Kundali border in Haryana's Sonipat district at around 11:30 pm on Monday.

The police cops were identified as Inspector Dinesh Beniwal - posted in the Special Staff of the Northwest district - and ATO Inspector Ranveer, posted at Adarsh Nagar police station. 

The distressing mishap unfolded when Delhi cops were returning to their hometown in Sonipat in a personal car. 

According to the report, the truck driver failed to operate the vehicle responsibly and suddenly applied brakes, causing the fatal collision with the police car driven by Inspector Dinesh Beniwal. The force of the impact proved fatal, claiming the lives of both officers who were on duty.

As investigations into the incident continue, the focus remains on addressing the circumstances leading to this heartbreaking accident and ensuring accountability for those responsible

Meanwhile, Orange alert has been issued in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. The influence of a Western Disturbance increases the likelihood of rain in all three regions, with the possibility of snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued dense fog and cold wave warnings for the coming days. Dense to very dense fog is expected to persist in parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura.
