Fliers left in lurch after Go First cancels flights till May 9; sale of tickets suspended
PTC Web Desk: Go First airlines on Thursday cancelled all flights May 9 and promised full refund to the fliers. In a statement, the airlines said, "We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till May 9, 2023, have been cancelled."
Go First further said, "We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations. A full refund will be issued to the original mode of payment shortly."
The airlines has also suspended the sale of tickets till May 15. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) also issued a refund order to Go First.
The DGCA said it had directed Go First to “process the refunds to passengers as per the timelines specifically stipulated in the relevant regulation.”
Notably, Go First airlines has been facing financial crunch amid the non-supply of engines by Pratt & Whitney. The airlines has now filed an application for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings before NCLT, the statement by the airlines said earlier.
