Farmers' protest: Internet ban extended in 7 Haryana districts

Farmers' Protest: The Haryana government on Monday extended the ban on mobile internet and bulk SMS services in seven districts in the wake of the farmers' protest.

Now, the internet services will remain shut till February 20, 12 am in seven districts of the state - Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa.

Meanwhile, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni said on Monday that the government must include oil seeds and Bajra in the MSP. He also warned that if the Centre does not agree by February 21, Haryana will join the agitation.

"There is time until February 21st. The government should consider and recognise the importance of these two commodities (oilseeds and bajra). Just as they mentioned pulses, maize, and cotton, they should also include these two crops. If these two are not included, we will have to reconsider because they are our most important items that are not sold. Today, mustard is available in the market for Rs 4200, which is Rs 2000 less than the MSP," he said.
