'They were eating Maggie and then...': Family of UP man recounts horror when their son was shot dead
PTC News Desk: What was meant to be a fun outing, turned into an unforgettable nightmare and irreparable loss. Shubham Dwivedi, a resident of Kanpur is among the victims who lost their life in tragic Pahalgam attack.
The family while recounting the horr said that the terrorists asked them if they were Muslims and demanded they recite Kalma, an Islamic declaration of faith.
Shubham’s cousin said, "Bhaiya and bhabhi were eating Maggi, when two people in uniform came to them, and asked are you Muslim, if yes, then recite the Kalma.
When they did not give a satisfactory answer, the gunmen shot Shubham, his cousin recounted. “They shot bhaiya in the head, and then pointed the gun at bhabhi and said ‘tell your government what we have done’.”
Shubham had been married for jus two months and he long with his wife and other family members were on a vacation in Kashmir visiting Sonamarg and Gulmarg before reaching Pahalgam.
Shubham's father while narrating the ordeal said, " When the terrorists killed Shubham, his wife said that kill me along with him but terrorists refused and said I won’t kill you, I am leaving you alive so that you can go and tell your government what we did".
Several videos of Shubham enjoying a happy and joyous family time a day before with his family are doing rounds on social media. However little did they know that soon this fun outing is going to turn tragic and one of the unforgettable memories.
