Emergency landing at Jaipur airport as passenger suffers panic attack on IndiGo flight
PTC Web Desk: An IndiGo Airlines flight (6E-402) travelling from Dehradun to Pune made an emergency landing at Jaipur airport on Wednesday after a passenger suffered a panic attack mid-flight.
The incident occurred around 2.30 pm when the passenger's health deteriorated despite initial first aid provided by the cabin crew. The flight, which departed Dehradun at its scheduled time of 12 noon, sought immediate assistance from Jaipur Air Traffic Control. Upon landing at 2.23 pm, the passenger was deboarded and rushed to a private hospital in Jaipur. The flight resumed its journey approximately two hours later after the passenger was safely evacuated and attended to.
This is the second such incident in a month at the Jaipur airport. A Vistara Airlines flight (UK-829) travelling from Delhi to Hyderabad had also made an emergency landing last month after a passenger fell ill near Jaipur.
A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear or anxiety that can cause physical symptoms such as chest pain, rapid heartbeat, and shortness of breath. While not life-threatening like a heart attack, it can significantly affect mental health and quality of life.
