Elderly man beaten to death for objecting to bursting firecrackers in Haryana
PTC News Desk: An elderly man was allegedly beaten to death in Haryana's Faridabad after he objected to people setting off fireworks in his neighbourhood, police said on Friday.
A case has been filed following a complaint by the victim's son.
According to Vinod, three men -- Raju, Dheeraj, and Nandu -- were bursting firecrackers in front of the victim's home in the Housing Board Colony in Faridabad's Sector 18 on Thursday evening. When his father objected, a verbal spat broke out, according to the complainant.
Vinod managed to calm the situation temporarily, but at about 1 a.m., the three men returned and began bursting firecrackers in front of their residence, according to the complaint.
The three accused allegedly thrashed Vinod's father after he came out of the house and objected. Vinod and his wife were also reportedly attacked by the three men when they tried to intervene.
According to authorities, the complainant's father died as a result of his injuries on the spot. A hunt is underway to arrest the accused.
