ED is used to poach MLAs: Kejriwal after agency files chargesheet in excise case
New Delhi, February 2: Following the filing of a supplementary charge sheet in the case of the scrapped excise policy, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Thursday that the Enforcement Directorate is used to poach MLAs and make or break governments.
"ED must have filed 5,000 chargesheets in this government's tenure. How many of them were punished? ED's cases are fake. They don't file cases to end corruption. ED is used to poach MLAs and make and break governments. So, the ED charge sheet is pure fiction," Kejriwal said.
On Thursday, the Rouse Avenue court also took cognizance of the ED's charge sheet. In the excise policy case, the court is also currently hearing bail petitions from Vijay Nair, Abhishek Boinpally, P Sarath Reddy, Binoy Babu, Sameer Mahandru, and others. The case will be heard in court on February 23.

Vijay Nair, Sharath Reddy, Binoy Babu, Abhishek Boinapalli and Amit Arora have been named in the supplementary chargesheet.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) stated in its charge sheet that the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) investigation thus far has revealed that the Delhi Excise Policy, 2021-22 was created by the AAP's top leaders to continuously generate and channel illegal funds for themselves.
The extent of involvement and abatement of criminal activities by the AAP leaders covered in the subject, prosecution complaint, according to ED, further substantiates their design and scheme of the scam.
According to the ED, the policy encouraged cartel formations by awarding an exorbitant wholesale profit margin of 12% and a massive retail profit margin of 185%, as well as incentivizing other illegal activities as a result of a criminal conspiracy by top AAP leaders to extract kickbacks from businesses.
