ED arrests AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan in money laundering case
PTC News Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan.

Earlier, ED team reached Amanatullah Khan's home this morning as part of the agency's probe into a money laundering case against the MLA. The case involves alleged irregularities in appointments to the Delhi Waqf Board and the leasing of its properties.
Khan released a video statement on X, claiming that the ED team plans to arrest him. "The ED team has arrived to arrest me on the pretext of a search. My mother-in-law has cancer and underwent surgery four days ago. She is also in my home. I had informed the ED," he claimed.

He said that the agency's plan is to arrest him, saying, "They've been harassing me for two years, filing fake cases and causing problems. They are harassing the entire party. Their aim is to break up our party. I ask the people of Okhla to pray for me and promise that we will finish all of your job. Don't worry, we will not get scared."

Visuals show an elderly woman on a bed while Khan speaks to a man, likely an ED officer, on the other side of a mesh door. "I want four weeks' time. My mother-in-law has been operated on," he says. The man outside the gate responds, "Why do you believe we are here to arrest you?" The MLA responds, "Why else have you come?" A woman, likely Khan's wife, is heard stating, "What do you need to search in a three-room house? Why do you have to turn my house upside down every time? She has cancer and has been operated on. If something happens to my mother, I will take you to court. She can't even stand."
AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh have accused the BJP government of targeting those who speak out against the ruling party. Sisodia, who was recently granted bail in a money laundering case, stated, "This is the only work left with ED. Muffle every voice raised against the BJP. And jail the ones who do not break."
AAP MP Sanjay Singh, who was previously arrested in a money laundering case, questioned whether the investigation into Khan is a "comedy".
He said that the CBI informed a court that no financial crimes had been committed in this case. The Okhla MLA was arrested in this case, and the court ruled that no corruption took place, Singh stated. He said that the ED also searched Khan's home last year but found nothing.
