5.3 magnitude earthquake rocks Himachal; tremors felt in Chandigarh, Punjab
Himachal Earthquake: An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 hit Himachal Pradesh's Chamba area on Thursday. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake struck around 9:34 p.m.
Strong tremors were felt across the town, as well as in Manali, which is around 100 km away from Chamba. The tremors were also felt in Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:5.3, Occurred on 04-04-2024, 21:34:32 IST, Lat: 33.09 & Long: 76.59, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India," the NCS posted.
However, there has been no loss of life because the tremors were felt in remote areas.
Lower-intensity earthquakes were felt on April 1 in Himachal Pradesh's Chamoli and Lahaul and Spiti.
