Dr Gurmeet Singh becomes first Indian Sikh to join ESRDS-France Board of Trustees at Sorbon Convocation
PTC Web Desk: Dr Gurmeet Singh, Chairman of Bellamonde Hotels, has achieved a historic milestone by being appointed as a Board Trustee of Ecole Supérieure Robert de Sorbon (ESRDS), France. His appointment, announced during the XXII Sorbon International Doctorate Convocation, makes him the first Sikh from India to receive this prestigious honour from a French institution.
The convocation, hosted at Bellamonde, New Delhi, witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Dr John Thomas Prade, president of ESRDS-France; Dr Vivek Choudhary, vice president of ESRDS and chairman of IIPPT Foundation; and Dr Nirmal Bansal, Provost of ESRDS-France. Also in attendance were Dr Meenakshi Lekhi, former Member of Parliament, and Dr Bart S Fisher, Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Dr Gurmeet Singh’s appointment highlights his exceptional contributions to the hospitality industry, leadership, and academia. His long-standing association with ESRDS-France has played a significant role in fostering educational ties between India and France. In his new capacity, he aims to further strengthen Indo-French academic and cultural relations.
Expressing his gratitude, Dr Gurmeet Singh stated: "It is a great privilege to represent India and the Sikh community on a global platform. I look forward to advancing education and promoting international collaborations."
