Doctor's timely action rescues Delhi boy who swallowed Rs 5 coin
PTC News Desk: A young boy's life was saved by the timely intervention of a doctor at Moolchand Hospital in Delhi after he accidentally swallowed a five-rupee coin. Shubham Mishra, the son of Umashankar Mishra, found himself in a dangerous situation when he ingested the coin, prompting his family to seek urgent medical assistance.
Despite displaying no immediate symptoms, an X-ray revealed the presence of the coin lodged in Shubham's stomach. Rushed to Moolchand Hospital, the medical team, led by Dr. Rishi Raman, quickly sprang into action to prevent a potential tragedy.
In a remarkable display of medical expertise, Moolchand's very own Dr. @rishiraman89 successfully removed a lodged coin from a young boy's throat!

Administering anesthesia, the team successfully performed the Roth net procedure to extract the coin from the boy's throat, averting a potentially fatal situation. The hospital noted the presence of a Serpinginous slough-covered ulcer at the site where the coin had been lodged, underscoring the severity of the situation.
Moolchand Healthcare hailed Dr. Rishi Raman's expertise in a post, emphasising that the successful extraction was a testament to the hospital's exceptional gastro expertise. Umashankar, the relieved father, expressed profound gratitude towards Dr. Raman for his swift action, recounting the anxiety and tension his family experienced prior to the procedure.
This incident highlights the critical role of medical professionals in emergency situations. In a separate case earlier this year, doctors at Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital performed surgery on a patient who had ingested a staggering 39 coins and 37 magnets due to a psychiatric illness. Such cases underscore the importance of prompt medical attention and the vital role played by skilled medical professionals in saving lives.
