India-China agreement: Disengagement along LAC initiated days after breakthrough

PTC News Desk: Days after agreement on India-China patrolling pact, the disengagement process has been initiated at the Line of Actual Control. Certain tents and temporary structures have been dismantled while Indian soldiers are marching back towards the west side of the Charding Nala and Chinese soldiers are moving back to the east side. 


There were around 10 to 12 temporary structures have been fully removed from the site. Chinese army reduced the number of their vehicles in the area, and the Indian army also withdrew some troops. After this process is completed, patrolling is expected to resume in Depsang and Demchok within the next 4-5 days. Decision on the four buffer zones is yet to be taken. 

As the disengagement on border is expected to improve tainted ties between both the nations, the leaders of Asian Giants also endorsed the agreement during their bilateral meeting at BRICS summit. 

The meeting was first which took place in five years, PM Modi highlighted and emphasized the need to to maintain peace and stability along the borders.  Xi Jinping also agreed "in principle” to the suggestions made by PM Modi to improve bilateral relations.
