Direct flights between Kullu's Bhuntar Airport and Jaipur begin; check fare and schedule
PTC Web Desk: Alliance Air inaugurated its direct flight service between Kullu's Bhuntar Airport and Jaipur on Monday, marking a new chapter in connectivity between the two states. On its first day, the flight carried 56 passengers from Jaipur to Kullu, while 21 travellers took the return flight to the Pink City.
The 72-seater Alliance Air aircraft was welcomed at Bhuntar Airport, Kullu, with a water cannon salute, a gesture that signifies the opening of new opportunities for travellers in both Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. The fare for the flight service has been set at an affordable Rs 2,500.
Flights scheduled twice a week
The direct flight service between Jaipur and Bhuntar will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Alliance Air flight will depart from Jaipur at 8,20 am arrive in Bhuntar at 10. 15 am. After a 20-minute halt, the flight will take off for Jaipur at 10.35 am, reaching its destination at 12, 40 pm.
The launch of this flight route is expected to significantly boost tourism in Himachal Pradesh, especially in popular destinations like Kullu-Manali. The direct connection will also make it easier for residents of Himachal to access Jaipur
Earlier, tourists from Rajasthan and Jaipur had to rely on taxis for the journey to Kullu-Manali, which would cost between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000. The road trip would take nearly two days. However, with the introduction of the flight service, the journey will now be completed in just 1 hour and 55 minutes.
The Airports Authority of India has launched this new air service as part of the central government's UDAN-5 regional connectivity scheme. Following the Jaipur route, flights between Bhuntar and Jammu are expected to commence by the end of October.
