PTC Web Desk: The much-awaited concert of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is scheduled to take place at the Exhibition Grounds in Sector-34, Chandigarh, on Saturday evening. The event has been surrounded by significant controversy, leading to its escalation in the Punjab-Haryana High Court. However, the concert has now been granted permission to proceed.
Ahead of the concert, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared a video with Diljit Dosanjh, expressing his joy. "It was a pleasure and relief meeting my little brother Diljit Dosanjh, who has taken the Punjabi language and music beyond borders," said CM Mann. He further prayed for the prosperity and happiness of Punjab, Punjabi culture, and its representatives.
While the concert has faced several hurdles, including legal disputes, all obstacles have been cleared, and the show is set to proceed as planned. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has, however, issued special directions regarding the event: The concert must end by 10 pm and sound levels should not exceed 75 decibels.
The Chandigarh Administration has been instructed to ensure traffic management and maintain law and order. In preparation for the event, police officials conducted a security inspection on Friday, ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place. A large police force has been deployed to handle any potential issues, and a special traffic plan has been devised to ensure smooth transportation.
The concert is expected to attract several high-profile dignitaries, including Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel as traffic disruptions are expected from 4 pm onwards.
