PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old delivery agent, Bharat Prajapati, was allegedly strangled to death in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, after he came to deliver smartphones worth approximately Rs 1 lakh. The police identified the accused as Gajanan and his accomplice, Akash, who later disposed of the victim's body in the Indira Canal, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh.

The crime took place on September 23, when Prajapati went to deliver Google Pixel and Vivo smartphones, ordered via Flipkart by another accused, Himanshu Kanaujia. The delivery was scheduled for Kanaujia's residence in the Chinhat area under the cash-on-delivery option.

After Prajapati failed to return home, his family reported him missing on September 25. Following an investigation, the police tracked Gajanan’s number through call records. Upon questioning, Akash confessed to the crime, admitting that they had planned to rob Prajapati of the expensive phones. The duo attacked and strangled him to death before disposing of his body in a sack in the canal.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently searching for Prajapati's body. While Kanaujia and Akash have been arrested, Gajanan is still on the run.
