On July 18, the water level dropped below the danger mark at 8 pm, having remained above the threshold for eight days. On July 10, the river breached the danger mark at 5 pm, leading to extensive flooding in the national capital.
With the increase in the river's water level, several areas in Delhi have been grappling with water-logging and flood-like situations. Revenue Minister Atishi cited the Central Water Commission and warned that the Yamuna River may cross the danger level by Sunday evening.
She also alerted residents that certain parts of Yamuna Khadar might face flooding if the water level rises to 206.7 meters. The government, however, assures that it is fully prepared for immediate evacuations in vulnerable areas.
