Delhi woman's early morning bike cab ride turns into 'one of worst experiences'

PTC News Desk: A 27-year-old Delhi woman shared a terrifying experience after a bike ride booked via a ride-hailing app dropped her at an unknown location. The incident, which took place during an Uber Moto ride from Noida's Sector 46 to the Botanical Garden Metro Station, has sparked concerns over passenger safety in ride-sharing services. The woman shared her ordeal on Reddit, drawing attention to the risks passengers may face when using these platforms.

The woman recounted that the situation took a turn for the worse when the driver asked her to cancel the trip so he could divert to pick up a parcel. When she refused, insisting he follow the original route, the driver became increasingly insistent and took an alternative route, ignoring her requests.

"Had one of the worst experiences with Uber Moto today in Noida. First, the driver asked me to cancel my trip and ride separately with him to the Botanical Garden metro station. I denied. Then he took my ride. Near Sector 46, he took a different route because he wanted to pick up a parcel," she wrote.

Despite her objections and repeated requests to be dropped off as planned, the driver became agitated, refusing to listen and taking her on an unwanted detour.

"I told him he could drop me off at the Botanical Garden and then make his delivery. He got mad and said he WILL take the delivery whether I wanted it or not. He turned the bike around and took a detour," she explained.

Frightened by the escalating situation, the woman threatened to file a police complaint, which led to the driver abruptly dropping her in the middle of an unfamiliar road in Sector 46. Shaken by the ordeal, she managed to flag down an auto-rickshaw to reach her destination safely.

"He started screaming at me and then dropped me randomly in the middle of the road in Sector 46... I got so scared, seriously," she added.

Following the incident, the woman reported the matter to Uber, which responded with an apology and a promise to investigate the issue and improve their service.

This incident comes just weeks after another alarming case in which a bike driver assaulted an air hostess and attempted to kill her when she resisted.
