Delhi UPSC aspirants death: Delhi LG announces Rs 10 lakh assistance to family of deceased

Delhi UPSC aspirants death: After three students were drowned in the basement of a coaching centre in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar,  Delhi LG Office announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh per to the families of the deceased. 

The ages of the three victims have were revealed as Tania Soni, 25, Shreya Yadav, 25, and 28-year-old Navin Delvin. Navin lived in Kerala, Tania was from Telangana, and Shreya was from Uttar Pradesh.Each one of them was getting ready for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations.


The incident occurred at Rau's Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar on Saturday after heavy rains.

The owner and coordinator of the coaching center were also arrested in the case. The accused have been booked for culpable homicide, among other charges.

The MCD sealed the basements of 13 coaching centers in Karol Bagh on Sunday for violating building bye-laws amid protests by students. Earth movers were used to remove encroachment over drains in Old Rajinder Nagar following student protests
