Delhi Services Act, Data Protection Act become laws after President's nod
PTC News Desk: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday gave a nod to four bills passed during Parliament's monsoon session.
The four bills that have been signed into law are the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, and the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill.
At least two of these Bills, which have already been passed into law, have been faced with stiff opposition from opposition parties.
Opposition alliance INDIA has voiced strong opposition to the Centre's bill on control of services in the national capital, which replaces an ordinance that wrested the authority of Delhi's bureaucrats from the Aam Aadmi Party-led administration.
