Delhi records 105 dengue cases in one week, total cases reach 348

PTC News Desk: Delhi has recorded a total of 348 cases of dengue since the start of the year with as many as 105 cases reported over the last week alone, according to data released by Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Health officials are dealing with a large increase in dengue cases as a result of recent strong monsoon floods that inundated parts of Delhi.

Concerns about the breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes have grown as floodwaters recede and stagnant pools of water linger in various areas.

These conditions, according to health experts, are ideal for the spread of Aedes mosquitos, which are responsible for transmitting dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.

The increase in dengue cases is not the only cause for concern; malaria and chikungunya cases have also increased in recent weeks.

13 cases of malaria have been reported in Delhi in the last week, and 85 cases of malaria have been reported in the national capital this year.

A case of Chikungunya has been detected in Delhi in the previous week, and 15 cases have been reported this year.

To prevent the spread of mosquitoes, health officials have asked individuals to take immediate actions, such as cleaning out stagnant water and using mosquito repellents, etc.

They are also intensifying vector control tactics to reduce number of mosquitoes and prevent disease spread.

Local hospitals and medical facilities have been placed on high alert to ensure that anyone affected by these diseases receives prompt and efficient treatment.
