Delhi Rains : SpiceJet issues advisory as heavy rainfall disrupt flight operations

Delhi Rains  | Several parts of Delhi experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday, providing much-needed respite from the sweltering summer heat. The showers brought the minimum temperature down to 27.2 degrees Celsius, offering a welcome coolness to the residents.

However, the heavy rainfall also led to several challenges across the city. Waterlogging was reported in multiple areas, causing traffic snarls and delays. There has been a lot of flooding, and in some low-lying places, water has even invaded dwellings. Traffic flow has been impacted, with several vehicles becoming stuck on the road as a result of flooding.

In a recent update, SpiceJet has informed passengers that flight operations from Delhi are expected to be affected due to heavy rains.

Spicejet posted on X, “Due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status”

The inclement weather has led to delays and potential cancellations, causing inconvenience to numerous travellers. The airline has advised passengers to stay updated on their flight status through official channels to avoid any unexpected changes in their travel plans.

Heavy rainfall in the Delhi-NCR region has been causing disruptions not only to air travel but also to road traffic, creating a challenging situation for commuters. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of continued heavy rainfall, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
