PTC News Desk: The latest Forbes Billionaires List for 2024 has unveiled a remarkable trend: the top 25 youngest billionaires worldwide are all aged 33 or younger, boasting a combined wealth of $110 billion. Yet, a significant portion of these fortunes has been inherited rather than earned through individual efforts.

At the forefront of India's young billionaire elite are Zahan and Firoz Mistry, sons of the late Cyrus Mistry. Together, they wield a staggering fortune of $9.8 billion, with each inheriting a substantial $4.9 billion. Their father, the former chairman of Tata Sons, tragically passed away in a car accident in 2022, leaving behind a profound legacy. Zahan and Firoz Mistry, aged 25 and 27 respectively, secured the top spots on Forbes' 2024 list of young billionaires under 30. While both brothers are citizens of Ireland, they reside in Mumbai and have inherited a portion of the family's 18.4 per cent stake in Tata Sons.

Zahan Mistry, an alumnus of Yale University, and Firoz Mistry, who studied at the University of Warwick, represent the next generation of the Mistry family's legacy. Their grandfather, Pallonji Mistry, played a pivotal role in establishing the family's prominence, while their uncle, Shapoor Mistry, currently serves as the chairman of the family's conglomerate, the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

Who is Zahan Mistry?

Meet Zahan Mistry, the 25-year-old scion of the Mistry family, whose name is synonymous with wealth and legacy. Zahan is the son of the late Cyrus Mistry, who served as the former chairman of Tata Sons, the esteemed holding company of the renowned Tata conglomerate.

Following his father's untimely demise in 2022, Zahan inherited a substantial portion of the family's wealth, including a stake in Tata Sons amounting to 18.4 per cent. This stake contributes significantly to Tata Sons' impressive $150 billion in revenue.

Educated at the prestigious Yale University, Zahan is not only an heir but also a well-educated individual with a keen eye for business. He holds a notable 25 per cent stake in the Mumbai-based construction behemoth, the Shapoorji Pallonji Group. Interestingly, this conglomerate is chaired by none other than his uncle, Shapoor Mistry.

Despite his ties to Ireland, Zahan proudly calls Mumbai his home, where he currently resides, overseeing his family's business interests and carrying forward their illustrious legacy.

Who is Firoz Mistry?

Meet Firoz Mistry, the 27-year-old elder son of the late Cyrus Mistry, who stands at the helm of a significant family legacy. Following his father's tragic passing in a car accident in 2022, Firoz inherited an impressive 18.4 per cent stake in Tata Sons, a cornerstone of the esteemed Tata conglomerate.

But Firoz's involvement in the family's business ventures doesn't end there. He also holds a noteworthy 25 per cent stake in the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, a Mumbai-based conglomerate chaired by his uncle. This dual role positions Firoz as a key player in both the Tata empire and the family's own business endeavours.

Beyond his inherited wealth and stakeholder status, Firoz is actively engaged in strategic initiatives within the family's business portfolio. Notably, he is spearheading efforts to raise capital through the potential listing of Afcons Infrastructure, a privately held construction and engineering firm.

Educated at the esteemed University of Warwick, Firoz Mistry combines his inheritance with a solid academic background. Despite his Irish citizenship, Firoz has chosen to make Mumbai his home, where he is deeply involved in overseeing the family's business operations and shaping its future trajectory.
