Covid scare in Rajasthan; CM Bhajan Lal Sharma tests positive
Jaipur, March 6: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has tested positive for Covid-19, as announced on Wednesday. In a statement, he shared, "I got my health test done today (Wednesday) following some problems related to my health. My Covid report has come positive. I am in self-isolation and will completely follow the advice of doctors, participating in all upcoming programs virtually."
Upon learning of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's positive diagnosis, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot extended his wishes for a speedy recovery. Gehlot expressed, "I was informed that Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma has tested positive for Covid. I wish him a speedy recovery."
Last month, Gehlot himself had tested positive for both Covid-19 and swine flu. In a post on social media, the senior Congress leader stated, "Due to fever for the last few days, got tested today on the advice of doctors, which confirmed Covid and swine flu. Because of this, I will not be able to meet for the next seven days." Gehlot was subsequently admitted to the IDH centre of SMS Hospital in Jaipur for better recovery.
As of the latest update, India has reported 217 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, with active cases increasing by 28. The total cases reported in the country stand at 4,50,30,684, and the active cases are currently 1,081. In Rajasthan, nine new Covid cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total reported cases to 13,26,846. The active cases in the state have decreased by 38, standing at 75.
