India reports 1,890 new Covid cases; states on high alert
PTC News Desk: Cases of COVID-19 are rapidly increasing in India, in the last 24 hours country has recorded with 1,890 fresh cases reported, the highest in 210 days. The cases have risen by 78% in the last week as compared previously, while the country reported 29 deaths during the period, up from 19.
Earlier, on Saturday, the case count was the highest reported in the country since October 22, 2022, when 1,988 fresh infections were recorded.

The states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Delhi and other states are put on high alert. In the last 24 hours, there was a sudden spike of fresh Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh, there are 27 active cases who are undergoing treatment in the state. According to Union Health Ministry and state authorities, they do not want to leave any chances in controlling the pandemic
Officials of all the state department are closely monitoring the situation. As per to the reports, Covid-19 cases are increasing rapidly in Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Delhi and other states. At around total of 1,890 new cases were registered across the country on Sunday and four people succumbed to the pandemic.
As per to the data, Maharashtra registered the highest number of fresh cases for the second week in the country. There are 1,956 fresh infections, up 68% from 1,165 in the previous period. The count of the Covid cases rose in most states, the rise was the sharpest in Haryana, Delhi, UP, Gujarat, Himachal and Goa (among states reporting at least 100 cases).
